Baby Mama is now Box Wine Betty, the amazing pin-up inspired accessories line my friend Jessie and her friend Karrin co-created. I own several pieces of their line and let me tell you, it's beautiful. No glue, no fuss and super hip-rocker style pieces that make any girl feel like a TOTAL Betty! This shoot was so fun, especially because I met some amazing artists. I met Karrin and Mark who own wwww.skybluenetwerk.com which is a local print ANYTHING company. They did the Box Wine Betty logo in these images which they printed on a giant sticker. I will definitely be using these guys for future print jobs. They also brought along a hair stylist Jen who helped out with the 50's retro hairstyles. The girls sipped wine while we listened to Bjork and laughed alot. My cat Paris Hilton decided to get in on the action as well. Box Wine Betty is going to be big and I am so glad I can be apart of it. I hope you all can make it down to First Friday in a couple of weeks at La Reve in downtown Camas....there will be tons of jewelry and amazing artists to meet! Love you Jessie you're wicked awesome and thank you to Karrin and Mark and Jen as well!
I have taken the twins to the Oregon Childerns Museum before. But not with Josh. I knew he would enjoy seeing the kids in this discovery playland. It's the cutest thing ever to watch their faces light up as soon as they walk in. We start with the "Waterworks" section. They give all the kids these mad scientist plastic smocks and they run around and play with all these pulleys, fountians and waterslides. This time I came prepared...brought each twin an extra set of clothes and made them wear their rubber boots which totally saved a crying freak out once they got cold. Next you move into the grocery store area, which was entertaining to watch. Tons of kids stealing mini shopping carts and fake food from eachother. I felt a little mom rage when a little girl older then Aubrey swiped her cart from her, then she left it for a few minutes so we went over to get it back and the mom of the little girl said "Oh, that's hers!" It wasn't the first time I have bit my tounge in that situation, but the good news we were at the Childerens museum and there was pleanty of other distractions for us to go play with. We then moved over to the baby discovery area. It said up to 36 months and we are just under that so, we went for it. Lots of fishtanks and faux riverbeds. My kids of course wanted to drink the gross water, but they had fun playing in the water and looking at all the rocks. Towards the end there was a face painting section, which Aubrey was all over. The "grease crayons" are no joke as they stained my kids faces for 2 days...even after scrubbing. But it was fun to watch them look in the mirror and paint on themselves. It was a great day that ended at Popeyes Chicken and a major nap afterwords. I am living my dream life with the 3 most amazing people I know! Thanks God!
This is what my kids call Bino's kids. She and I both think it's the cutest thing ever to hear them say it. As if that isn't adorable enough, every time my kids see her kids, they get so happy. Gavin runs to Lauren (Roar-en) and holds his hands up to be held. Aubrey goes to Meghan (Ragen) and does the same. After a few minutes, Gavin starts to copy Jacob (Gay-cub, yes, it's funny, I know, but so cute) since he is 9 months older and so cool to him. We had a great time hangin out and getting the kids 7,5 & 3 year pics (I cannot believe they are this old already!) I remember when Lauren was born, and Megs and Jacob for that matter. Seems like just yesterday they were all lil babies. Now they are big kids and great role models for mine. Thank you guys for everything and I can't wait to all hang out again! The twins are already asking!
You know you have a love for something when it sends chills up your spine when you are doing it! I had an amazing day last week with my friends Carla and Bianca. These are the two most beautiful girls I have ever met and I literally got CHILLS shooting them! We set up the date for Bianca to learn more about her new camera. I was mentoring! I felt really excited and wanted to teach Bianca everything I could in our short time together. The good news is we will do this more often. She is a raw talent and I know she will be doing great things with her work very soon! And Carla......all I can say is THOSE EYES! What a pure beauty and such an amazing soul....and a phenomenal cook to boot! Thank you girls for a fun day, for taking risks, getting out in the rain and freezing our butts off for the perfect shot! Brunettes really do have more fun! ; )
She's finally here! (well, it was a few weeks ago, but now I am posting about it!) Paige Marie McDonald was born on January 25th at St. V's. After a long hard labor, Summer and Nick finally got to meet their lil miracle baby! She is so perfect from head to toe! I went to visit them on day 6 and for first time parents, they really have their stuff together! I knew Sum and Nick would be awesome parents. They are so laid back, everything isn't a stress and they are just enjoying every second of that kid! She was very good for our shoot, of course, since she didn't want to disappoint Aunt Amy! Seriously, I can't wait to watch her grow, have her play with my kids, and see the joy she will continue to bring Summer and Nick! Here's the announcement I made for them as well as a few shots from the day! I love you Summer, Nick and Baby Paige! Let me know if you need anything, especially someone to hold that baby! mmmmm........
Robyn and I have been friends since high school at Portland Christian. I call her Bino. The name started when our friend Sarah called her "Robino Rodriquez" with a spanish accent randomly one day. We all shortened it to "Bino" and she has been that ever since. She has been a great friend through high school and college. We lived together and worked together out on the east coast during our freshman year at Liberty. We got tattoos together. We had some good and bad times, but all of our memories brought us closer as friends and now moms! She has taught me how to REALLY cook, be a "tough love" mom which has saved me a million times over with the twins and shown me how to be a loyal and patient friend. I can be a bit high maintenance sometimes, but Bino always listens and understands. She knows where I came from and who I have become! I love watching her with her kids, they think she is the coolest and respect her so much! Thanks Bino for being you and for looking so smoking' hot! My camera LOVES shooting you which is pretty obvious in these photos! She is extremely dedicated to keeping fit which makes her a super happy and healthy lady. Happy birthday dude! 34 never looked so good.......
I had the opportunity to shoot a loyal client/friend yesterday. She and her sister in law both wanted to do "hottie" shoots. So we all met up at M's house for the event! I love it when women come to me and ask for these types of shoots. It says a lot about the person they are and how confident they are in their own skin. These ladies could not be more perfect as far as clients. They were prepared, had exactly in mind what they wanted and we went for it! Thank you M and K for a fun girls day! I can't wait to show you both your images! Here's a few I worked on last night.......man, what a couple of beautiful ladies! Much love and thanks a million!
